As spring is in full swing, so is baseball season here at Torrance High. The boys’ varsity baseball team started its season on March 6th against Redondo Union, where they won 4-3. Our boys are off to a great start. As of right now, they hold a record of 5-3 after beating Woodrow Wilson with a whopping score of 10-3 today!
Last year, the team finished the season 19-11, 2nd in the Bay League, and made it to the CIF Division 2 quarterfinals, where they faced off against Fountain Valley but came up short. As of this year, the team is already 4th in the Bay League with many games to come. When each year ends, a new chapter begins, and senior Nori Mori has high hopes for these boys. “This team feels a lot closer and more connected than last year. Everyone understands their role and is fully bought into what we’re trying to accomplish.” With stronger bonds this season and their unmatched chemistry on and off the field, the THS Varsity baseball team is bound for greatness.
When asked what specifically made this year’s team different, the team said, “The energy is higher, everyone came in more focused and ready to compete.” These boys have their minds set on achieving their goals. While this team has its strengths, there are always some challenges that will stand in front of them. Senior Nori explicitly stated, “Staying consistent and handling pressure in big games will be our biggest challenge. We have a lot of returners, but we just have to do our jobs.” As he stated, if they can minimize the amount of pressure that affects the team, they will definitely succeed.
This 2025-2026 season is another chance for this baseball team to show what they are capable of for consecutive years. The team’s ultimate goals are to make a deeper run than last year in CIF and finish even better in the Bay League. In order for this to happen, they just stay locked in and push themselves harder and believe in themselves and one another to accomplish everything they hope to do.
Come and support our boys at Kendall Field this season. We wish the Torrance High Varsity Baseball team the best of luck!
