Peanuts and french fries: what do those two things have in common? Not much to be honest. Both foods are easy to eat on the go but have mysteriously shown up in front of Torrance High.
There were three incidents last school year, with piles of nuts suspiciously decorating the front lawn. Now, the piles have reappeared on two separate occasions this school year.
The piles were found last May when a photo was taken of the squirrel seen nibbling on peanuts. He is not a suspected culprit of the incident, but it is rumored that he could be affiliated with the culprit’s motive. The second time this incident occurred it wasn’t near the benches but instead near the stairs leading down to the sidewalk. But they share the similarity of size of nuts and amount of them.
It seems nuts to see a giant pile of nuts on the ground, but it may not be as crazy as we think.
First question: “Where did the nuts come from?”. Well, the school cafeteria occasionally serves a blue bag of planter peanuts to the students. The bag, however, is snack-sized, big enough only for one person. One bag can’t be large enough to make a giant pile.
Second question: “When did this happen?”. Assuming that these nuts came from a student attending Torrance High School and not a rando on the street we can estimate when it happened. There are four possibilities: before school, after school, during lunch, or after 5th period. These are the only times students are outside and around the campus.
The mystery fizzled out as summer began and students left campus. With the start of the new year, however, the investigation has been reopened, as a new crime scene was uncovered:
The fries might have been a copycat crime, but since they appeared not on the floor but on an elevated surface (the planters) many guess that this might not have been the work of our delinquent squirrel. But unlike the nuts, the origin of the fries was less known. The size of the pile is noticeably smaller. Which begs the question: where did the fries come from? And who is the one who planted them?
No information stated above is concrete facts as the case is still being investigated. But it is rather a speculation of what has happened so far.
