This Friday night the Tartars take on Santa Monica High at the Vikings stadium at 7pm. For 8 weeks straight, the Tartars have been dominant on the field, remaining undefeated at 8-0. There are only two more games left in the regular season until we enter CIF. To ensure the Tartars keep their winning streak, junior quarterback Gibson Turner said, “We take our practices and preparations throughout the week very seriously, because we believe we are products of our preparations.”
Last season, Torrance beat Samohi 24-14, and currently the Vikings have an overall record of 5-3. To some, this seems like an easy win for Torrance, but the team is still applying their hard work, just as they would for any game. “We make sure everybody’s locked in during practice, watching our film, getting ready, and just making sure all our efforts are going towards that game on Friday.” Turner said.
Although the odds are in Torrance’s name, it could always get a little tricky since the Tartars don’t have a home-field advantage like they did last season. But, needless to say, Turner has confidence in his team, “I have faith in my guys, we’ve been studying hard and we’ve had some good practices, so I’m always going to choose our guys over the guys we’re playing against.”
Don’t miss out on the crucial game and come out to support the Tartars this Friday.
