Tonight is a big game for the Torrance Girl Flag Football team: the opening round of CIF playoffs. Shiloh Kira, who plays linebacker and inside receiver, says she feels ready because “we’ve done everything we needed to do to prepare.”Wide receiver and defensive back Addison Wells says the team needs to stop the other team’s running back and play well on offense. She also says, “On defense, we have to pull more flags than we miss.” The team is focused and ready to play hard.
Abigail Montenegro, who plays slot receiver and defensive back, is excited that the season is continuing. She says, “I’m excited because we get to have our season extended. Wells says, “We want to go further than last year.”
Montenegro says students should come watch the game because “it’s going to be an intense game because it’s win or go home.”
The Torrance team is ready to give its best and fight for the win tonight and is at Zamperini Stadium at 6 pm. The game is free.
