Another pile of food, or more like scattering, popped up on Tuesday, October 22nd after school hours in the same area as the last piles of peanuts and fries; however, it was on the grass lawn near a tree. Before examining closer, it was assumed to be styrofoam but we noticed it was the remains of multiple torn tortillas. Immediately, questions arose: How did someone get this many unused tortillas? And why were they left in this condition? The answers to these questions are still unknown.
But from observation, it didn’t look like an animal – like the previous suspect of a squirrel – could have committed this. The shredding was too precise and large for a squirrel’s doing with their tiny squirrel paws. The shape also was almost geometrical like somebody had used their hands to ripe or pull apart the flour tortilla victim, first vertically then horizontally. The tortillas could possibly be from the school cafeteria. Still, it’s unlikely as when looking at the Torrance Highs food menu online, they did not serve tortillas, only walking tacos/Taco Boats.
