Having success this school year is something we all wish to have, whether it’s having good grades, having less stress, or more. And let’s be real, having success isn’t a piece of cake all the time and requires your best effort. But no need to worry: here are some wonderful tips that can help you not only be successful this school year, but more stress free!
Getting Enough Sleep
Getting enough sleep is one of the best and most important ways we can set ourselves up for success in school. Good sleep habits help us to be ready and energized for the day ahead of us and also stay engaged in school. Many specialists, like the CDC, recommend that teenagers get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Lack of sleep can keep us from performing our best in school and reaching our full potential, making it much harder for us to reach our goal of success. To prevent this from occurring, we can do things such as having a bedtime and setting our phone down at a certain time. So remember Tartars to please, get your much needed rest!
Good Time Management
Having good time management is a very useful skill to have not only in school, but in life as well. Many of us have activities outside of school which makes time management much more significant. With good time management we are able to stay on task and be on top of things. We also prevent ourselves from procrastinating on assignments and leaving them to do at the last minute which leads to unnecessary stress. Having a priority list and having a plan ahead of time definitely can be helpful for you since this helps me with staying on top of assignments and projects and keeps me from getting overwhelmed with all my work. This way we are able to function more properly in school and have time for other things we enjoy as well.
Being Organized
Being an organized person is one of the best things you can do for yourself to make school much more easier. The University of Chicago has found that “staying organized enhances your sense of personal control”. This means staying organized can benefit us by allowing ourselves to stay in control over all our assignments and school work instead of being stuck in a big mess. Organization can reduce our stress since we can easily locate everything and have a set schedule for ourselves. We are also able to help our situation to feel more calm and not have our work in such a clutter. Having a set schedule and using a planner are great ways we can help organize all our tasks and stay productive as well. This way, during difficult times in school, we can have a sense of peace knowing that we are organized and have things under control.
Quiet Working Space
A quiet working space is a special place you can have to help you succeed in all your school work. This space allows us to stay focused and engaged when studying and completing any classwork. As someone who can easily get distracted at times, this helps me stay away from any distractions that may delay me from completing my work or doing my work properly. Although this area may sound a bit boring, you can make it a fun, calm, and comforting space as well by decorating it with things such as a comfy chair, clean desk, calming music, your favorite snacks and drinks, and good lighting. Feel free to make this as enjoyable as you’d like since you may stay in this area for a good amount of time.
Hopefully these tips can help you succeed in not only this school year, but the rest that are to come as well!
