Atlas Gives Students Map To Success
November 4, 2022
On Wednesday during 3rd period, juniors and seniors packed the school auditorium for a talk from Kevin Atlas.
Kevin Atlas is a former D1 basketball player who was born missing half of his left arm. He went on an inspiring story that he told the entire class of 2023 and 2024.
His sense of humor and motivational voice made the presentation enjoyable for the students. Atlas went on to play Division 1 basketball at Manhattan College, discussing how he didn’t let his disabled arm get in the way of his game. This hard work paid off as he got to the D1 level.
Atlas discussed many topics during his speech, but one notable lesson he gave students was to build a legacy of empathy that will last for years to come. By doing something that will carry on for the next classes, you will be remembered for what you did as the starter of that legacy.
After the presentation, Atlas stayed to speak with students and pose for photos.
