The Torrance High Tartars face the North High Saxons tonight to try to complete a perfect season.
After winning the league championship last Friday against Samohi with a score of 49-14. The Torrance Tartars are just one game away from a perfect season at 10-0.
It’s the first time since 2007 that Torrance has won the league championship, and now, the team has the opportunity to make history for the school.
Because Halloween is on Friday, the next game will take place tonight at Zamperini. Torrance face their rivals North High, a team they haven’t beaten in 12 years.
On top of that, it’s also Senior Night, making it an emotional night as it might be the last time the seniors will play at their home field, Zamperini Stadium.
Captain Justin Rivas said “We haven’t won league since the year I was born, through all of the years on frosh and varsity, I have never beaten North, but this year that is gonna change.”
“This year we have a much more rounded offensive attack, and I think that is gonna be the key to beating them, “ said Justin Rivas.
No matter the outcome of this Thursday’s game, this season will be remembered, but for now, the Tartars are focused on one more win and beating North.
